De Ayala was suave, witty, socially at ease and a Christian. De Puebla was none of those things, and didn't they make him suffer for it!

Katherine of Aragon was left in limbo following the death of Arthur, while her father, Ferdinand, and father-in-law, Henry VII wrangled over her dowry. Ferdinand kept promising the money but didn't deliver; Henry didn't seem in any hurry himself - why not? They used poor Katherine as a pawn to score points off each other.
